I've been gathering up all of the old family recipes. It's amazing how many places that I have found recipes that were tucked here and there into books, boxes. anyplace you can imagine.
I want to put them all together into a family cookbook the hardest part will be trying to read the recipes. The recipes were hand written by my great-grandmother and were done in pencil.....I have her old cookbook!!!! A lot of them are fading away or have been torn or erased. I'm going to do my best to copy them into a cookbook form. I want to copy all of them into the computer and save them on a CD. I can then make copies for anyone else in the family who wants them.
I have mom's recipes and some of my own that were family favorites too.
I will share some of them here with all of you as I go through them all.
God Bless,
Brenda

I can't wait to see some of your old recipes. I have a lot of my Mother's also. I am so happy to have them. They mean so much to me. This is my first visit to your blog and I really like it. connie from texas
Connie, Thank you for stopping by. I'm glad you like the blog. This is my first attempt at doing a blog. I'm going to post a recipe now if I can find it.
God Bless,Brenda
Brenda, I look forward to reading your recipes. We have a few of those in my family and my kids have asked me to post some on my blog so I'll probably do that. I'm going to create a cookbook for each son and that will take awhile but in the meantime they can peruse the blog and see the recipes. Whew, what a lot of work, huh? :)
Hi, thanks for stopping by. I think you are right doing a cookbook is going to be a big undertaking. I was sorting through my grandmothers cook book last night and didn't find as many recipes as I thought were there. She had a lot of clippings from newspapers. I still have a big box of loose recipes to go through ,

You are so lucky to have your gr grandmother's cookbook. And all the other family recipes. They said my grandmother never went by recipes or measured anything. I have put together 2 family cookbooks. The first one in 1996 and the second one in 2005. I got recipes from family members and put them together. I'm so glad I did it. I just wish it had been done sooner by somebody.
